Resource consents

The Tree People can submit on behalf of clients Resource Consent applications and Assessment of Environmental Effects, along with all accompanying plans, to ensure an easy approval process through the relevant channels.

Tree Management Plans

Do you want to know how to manage your trees in the short and long-term?

The Tree People can create a management plan tailored to your needs and the best interest of the tree, utilising our knowledge, skill, education, experience, and training in the specialised field of Arboriculture.

Expert Witness

Has an injury or damage occurred to property or assets such as vehicles, buildings, powerlines, infrastructure due to tree failure?

The Tree People can act as a qualified expert witness based on their knowledge, skill, education, experience, and training in the specialised field of Arboriculture.

Viability Studies and Reports

Do you have a project that entails working around protected, historic, notable or large trees? Are you planning on developing land, landscaping, building a garage or putting a path around a substantial tree?

Before you begin your project, The Tree People can carry out a viability study to ensure your project is feasible and that the proposed work is not going to compromise the health and/or stability of your trees.

A viability study will save you time, money and wasted resources.

Tree Reports

A tree report is written to identify a trees’ overall condition and advise on how to care for trees in the short and long-term. The report may involve assessing an individual tree, stand or group of trees for health and safety, which may require future management and maintenance.

If applying for Resource Consent for works around a protected tree, an Arborist’s Tree Report is often required to support the application.

Tree Risk and Health Assessments

Do you have a tree that you are concerned about?

The Tree People are fully qualified to the Quantified Tree Risk Assessment (QTRA) and Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) in assessing risk from trees.

Tree Protection Plans

Do you have a project that requires working around protected trees where a Resource Consent is required?

The Tree People carries out Tree Protection Plans in alignment through the relevant channels and the Christchurch City Council Construction Standard Specification (CSS) to ensure the efficient approval of the Resource Consent application.

The Tree People are on the list of approved contractors for working around Christchurch City Council trees.
