Proven client service and business systems facilitate industry accolade

In January 2020 The TREE PEOPLE were assessed by the NZ Arboricultural Association to become an approved contractor. This is the highest approval stamp available within the arboricultural industry.

Approved Contractors must meet quality assurance standards and a high level of professionalism required by the New Zealand Arboricultural Association. The NZ Arboricultural Association assessment criteria require a certain level of the industry, arboricultural and legislative knowledge, practical ability combined with proven client service and business systems.

The TREE PEOPLE passed all components of the assessment to receive this stamp and are proud to report that they passed with flying colours.  In real terms, this means that the TREE PEOPLE are now one of only two approved contractors in the South Island. What does this mean for their customers? Why does being an ‘approved contractor’ matter? Both residential and commercial clients cab be rest assured that they are employing the best of the best.

BENEFITS OF HIRING AN APPROVED CONTRACTOR

  • Professional, ethical, respectful
  • Quality assurance and approved business systems
  • Correct insurance covering arboricultural activities
  • Protection against substandard work
  • The backing and assurance of the New Zealand Arboricultural Association code of conduct

Speaking of the experience, business owner and qualified Arborist, Ra Hammer shared, “Trees are our passion. We enjoy the challenge of working in complex environs and working with trees that others may have deemed too difficult. We strive to deliver excellent services to our clients and to ensure that those services are safe, compliant and of the highest standard, every time. Receiving recognition of our practices and our commitment to the industry and to excellent service delivery was such a proud moment and I couldn’t be happier to have this stamp of approval.”

During the process, the NZ Arboricultural Association shared some noteworthy points about both the wider business and the team including:

  • All staff were found to be well credentialed and knowledgeable, both presenting and conducting themselves to a very high professional standard.
  • The company has excellent company values and staff management skills promoting health and safety in the workplace and staff development. This was clearly demonstrated at operational levels by all staff being very engaging, positive, and happy in their work environment.
  • They were extremely impressed by the applicant’s management and business ethos and of their very professional and dedicated team.

The process was concluded with this extract from the approval documentation, “As appointed assessors for the New Zealand Arboricultural Approved Contractor Programme, and in accordance with the standards contained within the ACP Accreditation Guide (July 2018 v.4), we verify that we have carried out a comprehensive audit of the applicant’s business systems, plant/equipment and operations. We have no hesitation in recommending that the Tree People (Four Seasons Tree Care Otautahi Ltd) be appointed as a New Zealand Arboricultural Association Approved Contractor.”
